FREE Printable: Room on the Broom Book Activity

For this activity you will need:

-Room on the Broom book by Julia Donaldson

-My Free Printable

-Scissors

-Glue Stick or Tape

Room on the Broom is such a cute story and a classic around this time of year for so many. So, I created a fun activity to go with the book. You'll start by reading them the story and then give them the opportunity to decide what they would make room for on their own broom.

Then you can give them this worksheet. if they are old enough to cut with scissors you could have them cut out all the images of items they could take with them on their broom. If not, you will want to pre-cut out the item images for them.

Then you can have them glue anything on the page/broom that they would want to take with them on their broom.

This activity is simple but you could add a more difficult element catered to their learning needs. Some examples:

-You could ask them what the object is and what letter and sound the object starts with. (C for cat. Then have them make the sound for C. etc.)

-You could have them count how many items they took on their broom. if you want to add addition or subtraction, you could ask how many items would they be taking it they added 3 more items to their broom, or subtracted 5 items from their broom etc.

-You could ask them what objects on their broom start with the same letter. (Book, Bat or Potion, Pizza, Popcorn & Pumpkin, etc.)

As you can see, you could have a lot of fun with this activity. To get my free printable, click the link, and remember that this is for personal use only.
